Douglas Leech honoured with the Fecc Award 2015

Brussels, May 2015- The European Association of Chemical Distributors (Fecc) – THE voice of the chemical distribution industry- grants the Fecc Award 2015 to Douglas Leech, in recognition for his outstanding contribution to the success of the chemical distribution industry. Neville Prior, Fecc President, presented Mr. Leech with the award at the Gala Dinner celebrated in the frame of the Fecc Annual Congress in Athens.

The Fecc Award symbolises the recognition to those who have distinguished themselves for outstanding performance in the European chemical distribution industry. “The leaders of the chemical distribution industry are an example of positive adaptation and dedication. An outstanding leader is someone who creates an environment where others succeed. To achieve this, a leader needs to have not only ample knowledge but must also be courageous, enthusiastic, creative and a tireless worker. We are extremely lucky to count with Mr. Leech who has demonstrated he possesses all these qualities and more. “I would like to thank Douglas for all the great work and huge contribution he has put into our efforts to help our industry move ahead and grow stronger”, added Mr. Neville, when presenting Mr. Leech with the award.

Born in 1966, Douglas has a Chemical Engineering background and has held positions in quality and environment in different companies since 1983. Douglas joined Solvitol Limited in 1993 and in 2003 he became the Technical Manager for the Chemical Business Association. Douglas has contributed outstandingly to Fecc’s SHE committee’s work on the revision of the SEVESO directive and related topics. His expertise, commitment and time dedication with Fecc’s work are outstanding. Douglas is not only very active with the SHE committee’s internal activities, but he also regularly represents Fecc at external meetings.
