FECC is looking for a Technical and Regulatory Affairs Manager familiar with the chemical distributors’ segment in Europe.

The manager will be responsible for coordinating several task forces composed of representatives of leading FECC members in order to monitor developments in EU legislation regarding Safety, Health and Environment with the European Institutions and external stakeholders. The task forces also advice and update FECC members on regulatory and legislative implementation and the development of standards for Good Trade and Distribution practices. The manager is to take in this connection a pro-active stand, define and obtain action plans and targets to focus the efforts, prepare the responses and timely achieve the set targets. 

The manager will create an effective interface with relevant members and stakeholders and with decision making bodies at national, European and international lev el in order to enhance FECC’s ability to be involved in relevant decision making processes. He or she will establish, maintain, extend and use a network of alliances, relationships with the various industrial players in order to get FECC’s views across. Inside FECC the manager will regularly report progress to the general management and members and support and assist the general management to achieve the overall FECC strategy and mission.

Skills and competences

  • The job requires a STEM academic background (science, technology, mathematics and engineering) such as Chemical Engineer or a Master in Chemistry, a good knowledge of the chemical industry in Europe and especially of chemical distribution and logistics.
  • Strategic thinking competences should be combined with the ability to leverage the STEM background in the context of evolving regulatory /policy environment.
  • The candidate should be fluent in English and at least one other European language. Additional languages are a plus.
  • The candidate should be at ease in a multicultural environment, have a team player spirit, empathy and customer service orientation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are a must, inclusive of the ability to speak in public and make convincing, concise presentations.
  • Result oriented project management, planning, budgeting and on time delivery skills are required, as are the ability to multi-task and prioritize as well as extensive computer
