Description

According to the current version of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive, EU countries should ensure that producer's responsibility schemes are established for all packaging by the end of 2024. As commercial and industrial (C&I) packaging systems are not present in all Member States’ Regulation scope yet, this webinar will give you the unique opportunity to learn more about how existing systems work and learn the fundamentals of a successful EPR-system for C&I packaging.

Speakers

  • Francis Huysman - Managing Director. Dr. Francis Huysman is a bio-engineer who earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences. Joining Valipac in 1997 as the Operational Director, he assumed the role of Managing Director in 2017, steering the organization towards a new focus on circularity and developing Valipac further as the reference EPR system for C&I packaging in Europe.
  • Ingrid Bouchez - Communications, Public Affairs and Regulatory Affairs Manager. She began her career at Valipac in 2000 in the Operations department, where she developed in-depth expertise in industrial packaging. Ingrid closely follows developments in Belgian and European regional legislation, with a focus on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and the Waste Shipment Regulation, preparing industries for future challenges.

About the co-organiser

Valipac provides a collective response to the extended producer's responsibility for commercial and industrial packaging. They are the first European organisation specifically dedicated to commercial and industrial packaging. Their basic mission is to achieve the recycling rates imposed on their clients for the packaging they put on the Belgian market and to make commercial and industrial packaging more circular.
