Joint industry letter – call to reassess key REACH revision proposals
Fecc, along with 32 other industry associations representing a wide range of European sectors using chemicals, has signed a letter to the European Commission to call for a reassessment of key REACH simplification proposals.
The joint call's aim is to strengthen the European industry, innovation and vital applications. Collaboration with the Commission and stakeholders to shape a REACH framework that is effective, implementable, and future-proof is one of its objectives as well.
Here are the key messages of this letter:
1. Regulatory Predictability:
Clarity and coherence across EU legislation for all businesses — a well-defined regulatory roadmap to allocate resources effectively and help authorities to make informed decisions.
2. No purely hazard-based restrictions or blanket solutions:
Advocacy for science and data driven risk management.
3. Simplifying supply chain communication while strengthening enforcement:
Support of the Commission’s efforts to simplify supply chain communication through secure, standardised, and user-friendly digital tools.
